Chicken biryani is a fragrantly seasoned one pot rice dish rooted in Indian and Pakistani cuisines. Chicken, basmati rice, and chick-peas simmer together along with ghee (clarified butter), nutmeg, black pepper, cloves, cardamom, cumin, coriander, curry, mint, ginger, onions, tomatoes, garlic, and yogurt. Biryani is typically served at celebrations and festive gatherings and makes a perfect meal-in-a-bowl.
